How can I rejuvenate my upper face with Botox?
The most commonly treated areas of Botox are the forehead (worry lines), crow's feet in the outer eye area, and frown lines (11's) between the eyebrows. Treating these all 3 of these areas is one of the best ways to make your face look more refreshed and well-rested. Botox in these areas typically last around 3 months, so I recommend quarterly treatments to maintain the refreshed look. To help my clients save on these recurring treatments, I've designed The Botox Annual Membership.

How can I lift my lower face with Botox?
These are the 3 areas I recommend for lifting the lower face: 1. Injecting Botox into the DAO muscle, which pulls the corners of the lips down, will stop this muscle from contracting, allowing the corners of the lips to return to normal position - helping counteract "resting sad face". 2. Injecting Botox into the orbicularis oris (upper lip), the muscle that that pulls the lip down, stops this contraction, allowing the upper lip to “lift” up and give more lip show. 3. Injecting Botox along the jawline targets the platysma muscle, which stops it from pulling down, giving a lift to the jawline.

What do Botox injections feel like?
Botox treatments are generally well-tolerated and cause minimal discomfort. Most clients describe the sensation as a slight pinching or stinging sensation during the injection, which lasts only a few seconds. Additionally, I use the most advanced syringes designed by Comfortox to minimize pain associated with the injections.

What is a Botox "Lip Flip"?
The muscle that is directly above the upper lip, pulls it down and in. If this pull is strong, this means it can cause you to have very little lip show at rest and/or when you smile. By strategically injecting Botox into this muscle above the upper lip it stops the pull down on the upper lip - allowing it to evert and “flip” up a bit to give more lip show. This can be a great treatment for someone with small lips, or if you notice your lip disappears when you smile.

What is "Trap Tox"?
If you're looking to address neck or shoulder pain or aiming for a sleeker, less masculine shoulder profile, Trap Tox provides an ideal solution. The power of Trap Tox lies in the neurotoxins like Botox, which contain botulinum toxin type A, a neuromodulator. Upon injection into the trapezius muscle, this neurotoxin temporarily disrupts communication between nerves and muscles, effectively inhibiting muscle contractions. This mechanism not only alleviates tension and discomfort but also induces gradual muscle atrophy, leading to a slenderizing effect on the shoulders and a visually elongated neck.

How does Botox work for excessive sweating?
When administered to the underarms, Botulinum toxin type A, the primary component in Botox, inhibits the binding and presynaptic fusion of acetylcholine and nerve receptors. This effectively hinders the release of acetylcholine, interrupting communication between the limbic system and the brain, and thereby reducing sweat production in the underarms. Over a period of approximately six to twenty-four months, the body naturally absorbs the Botulinum toxin, with minimal to no reported side effects.

"I'm SO happy I did Botox for my underarms! Thank you for answering my millions of questions and making the process easy and comfortable. I feel like a whole new person getting dressed and not having to worry about what's going to show sweat. Thank you!"
How can Botox improve my drooping nose?
A nose tip lift, or “Pixie Nose Botox”, can help improve a drooping nose for a more balanced and attractive look. To do this, I inject a small amount of Botox into the depressor septi nasi muscle which allows the nasal tip to pop up slightly in less than a week, with results that last about three months.

How can Botox help my jowls and marionette lines?
Marionette lines are the lines from corners of the lips down. Jowls are referring to sagging skin along the jawline which also make marionette lines more prominent. By injecting the underlying muscles in these areas with Botox it will stop their pull down, smoothing out the marionette lines and giving the appearance of tightening to the lower face.

How can Botox help my resting sad face?
This is a quick fix with Botox by injecting the DAO muscle just lateral to the marionette lines. The DAO muscle functions to pull the corners of the lips down. Injecting it with Botox stops the signal to this muscle to contract causing it to relax. And (bonus!) not only do the corners of the lips go up, it also softens the marionette lines.

How can Botox get rid of my deep crow's feet?
Botox can effectively reduce the appearance of deep crow's feet by relaxing the muscles responsible for causing these wrinkles. By injecting Botox into the targeted areas, it temporarily prevents muscle contractions, smoothing out the wrinkles and providing a more youthful appearance.

How can Botox slim my lower face?
A wide lower face is often caused by over-enlarged masseter muscles located above the jaw, primarily due to nighttime teeth grinding. Injecting Botox into these masseter muscles inactivates them, preventing intense contractions and leading to muscle shrinkage, resulting in a slimming effect on the lower face visible after 4-6 weeks.

How do you keep a masculine look for men with Botox?
My Botox approach for a masculine look is to soften and to not add too much where things look too tight. For men I always recommend the forehead and Glabella complex (in between the eyebrows), and crow’s feet as well if deep lines at rest are starting to form. Men have stronger and larger muscles in the face and need higher doses in between the eyebrows and forehead. I go straight across the forehead, no arching or shaping of the eyebrows. I soften the crow’s feet to slow down these lines from getting deeper.

Can I get Botox if I have hooded eyelids?
Yes. Injecting the 11s (Glabella complex, in between the eyebrows) and the muscle around the eyes will lift the brow and open up the eyes more to some degree.

What should I expect after my Botox treatment?
You may feel some slight discomfort, tingling, and swelling just after your treatment. This is temporary and should subside in a few days. Avoid touching the treated areas.
Am I a good candidate for Botox?
Botox is perfect for healthy individuals looking to address signs of aging who are not pregnant or currently breastfeeding. Botox is not recommended for individuals with certain neuromuscular diseases or conditions.
Is Botox safe?
Botox has been approved to be used medically since the 1970's. In 2002, the FDA approved treatment for the temporary improvement in the appearance of moderate to severe forehead lines, frown lines, and crow's feet in adult patients.
