PRP for Hair Restoration
With a PRP (platelet-rich plasma) treatment personally designed for you, we will take you one step closer to fighting hair loss that has already begun and stopping it in its tracks before it worsens. The procedure is minimally-invasive and produces some of the best results available on the market for hair restoration in both men and women (including for postpartum hair loss). It involves utilizing your blood's own growth factors to stimulate hair regrowth, enhance hair density, and prevent hair loss. Sarah-Kate is trained and licensed by the Cellular Medicine Association (CMA) to conduct PRP hair restoration procedures.

How does PRP for hair work?
The platelet-rich blood (PRP) is drawn from the patient, plasma is separated in a centrifuge, and the injection is then positioned into the various locations around the scalp that are being targeted. Because the blood is drawn from your own body, the risk of complication or rejection is eliminated.
Does PRP help for postpartum hair loss?
Yes, I can personally attest to the effectiveness of this treatment in regrowing hair having experienced postpartum hair loss myself and seeing the incredible results from PRP treatment. Postpartum hair loss, also known as telogen effluvium, is a common condition that affects many women after childbirth. This temporary hair loss occurs due to hormonal changes during pregnancy and the subsequent adjustment period after giving birth. PRP injections into the target areas promote hair follicle regeneration and strengthen existing hair. For more on PRP for postpartum hair loss check out my recent blog post.
What are the benefits of PRP for hair?
Packed with growth factors and proteins, PRP activates dormant hair follicles, stimulating them to grow while also enhancing the thickness and strength of existing hair. The treatment not only fosters regrowth of new hair, but also increases the density of hair follicles, resulting in greater volume and thickness. With its dual action as both a corrective and preventative measure, PRP is recommended for both men and women seeking to combat hair loss and thinning effectively.
Who is a good candidate for PRP for hair loss?
Hair loss can occur in both men and women, and this procedure is designed with that in mind. PRP is equally effective as a way to counteract female pattern baldness as it is for our male patients. The best candidates for a PRP treatment are patients who have slight to moderate hair loss, who want to take charge and regain confidence in their look.

How long does it take PRP to work?
While every patient is unique, most people can expect to notice new hair growth or thicker hair growth about 1 – 4 months after a full round of PRP treatment.

How many PRP sessions do I need?
This can vary based on individual patient factors, including the cause of their hair loss, the severity of their hair loss, and others. Most often, patients undergo a series of about 3 PRP treatments in their initial round of therapy. After this, patients may continue to enjoy fuller, healthier, denser hair for up to 1 – 5 years. However, many patients choose to undergo routine rounds of PRP therapy about 1 – 2 times per year to maintain consistent hair growth over a longer period of time.
