Today, I wanted to highlight my most popular (and natural!) treatments using PRP. PRP stands for Platelet-Rich Plasma and it is the process of using your own blood to promote tissue repair, healing, and stimulate cell regeneration. I love PRP treatments for clients (and myself) because it's natural, safe, and generates excellent results.
A Brief History on PRP PRP therapy has its roots in sports medicine. For over 20 years, elite athletes such as Tom Brady and Tiger Woods have used PRP injections to speed up the healing time from various sports injuries. PRP's success in helping athletes recover faster led to its adoption in cosmetic dermatology. The same healing properties that repair sports injuries are now used to rejuvenate skin and promote hair growth. The Process
Blood Collection
We draw a small amount of your blood, similar to a routine blood test. Centrifuge Process Your blood is spun in a specialized machine called a centrifuge. This separates the platelets. a type of blood cell involved with healing and tissue repair, rich in growth factors from other blood components. Concentration The result is concentrated platelets in plasma (plasma is the watery part of blood). Targeted Application This platelet-rich solution, often referred to as "Liquid Gold" is then carefully injected into specific areas of your skin. Regeneration The growth factors in PRP stimulate your body to repair damaged tissue, produce new collagen and elastin, improve blood flow, and enhance overall skin quality. Areas I Treat with PRP
I am trained and licensed by the Cellular Medicine Association (CMA), the creators of the Vampire Facial, to safely and effectively conduct PRP procedures.
Hair Restoration Injecting PRP into the scalp helps regrow hair and prevents thinning / loss. Under Eyes The under eye area is very susceptible to aging due to the delicate skin here. PRP is my go-to to rejuvenate the under eye area - it is effective, safe, long lasting. Vampire Breast Lift Injecting into the upper breast area rejuvenates the skin here, helping it to look more youthful and tight, and can increase breast tissue for fuller looking breasts. Nasolabial Folds or Smile Lines âInjecting into these folds boosts collagen and elastin to this area, thickening the skin and helping to smooth out and make these lines less noticeable. Scars Injecting PRP into scars remodels the tissue here, lessening the appearance of the scar. Sarah-Kate Rems, NP NYC Cosmetic Dermatology 646-434-8315 @Sarahkateremsnp |
